At CB Classics, we understand that a classic car is more than just a machine—it’s a piece of history, a family heirloom, or a lifelong dream. Our workshop is dedicated to the preservation and performance of vintage and classic vehicles.

We bring 20 years of hands-on experience, having worked on everything from pre-war icons like the ultra-rare Squire and Bugatti, through to award-winning concept cars of the 1980s.

Vehicles of this calibre require an immense level of attention to detail to ensure their historic value remains intact. This unique career path has allowed us to build rare connections with industry specialists and bring “lost” services back in-house.

We bridge the gap between traditional mechanical skill and modern precision, offering a full suite of services tailored to the unique needs of older vehicles.

Our Specialised Services:-

  • Comprehensive Vehicle Servicing: From routine oil changes to full seasonal health checks, we ensure your classic is always road-ready.
  • Expert Mechanical Work: We handle everything from brake overhauls and suspension setups to complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
  • Advanced Classic Diagnostics: While we respect the analogue nature of classic cars, we use specialised diagnostic techniques alongside our experience to pinpoint vacuum leaks, timing issues, and fuel system inefficiencies that others might miss.
  • Electrical Diagnostics: It comes as no surprise that most classic cars have had electrical “repairs” over the years. This often leads to reliability issues and potentially dangerous faults that can be hard to trace, especially once out-of-date upgrades have been added.
  • Precision Rewiring: Rewiring a classic requires a delicate touch and a focus on the finer details. We offer everything from troubleshooting sticking or uncalibrated gauges to installing new, period-correct looms.
  • Full & Partial Restorations: From “nut and bolt” restorations to sympathetic preservation, we work closely with you to bring your vision to life.
  • CAD design & 3D printing: Sometimes finding the correct replacement part can be difficult or even impossible, Especially when it comes to concept or prototype cars. We offer a in-house CAD design and 3D printing service, This has allowed us to replace long lost parts using original “press” and publication photos.
  • Upgrades & Enhancements: We have extensive experience with “hidden” upgrades to ensure the original details of the vehicle remain untouched—essential if the car is to be displayed or judged. Whether you are looking to increase reliability and performance or simply wish to see the road clearer at night, we are keen to discuss your options.

About us:

“A Lifelong Obsession”

My journey started in my parents’ garage. As a young boy, I was constantly dismantling gadgets and machinery just to understand the “why” behind the “how.” That childhood curiosity evolved into a deep-rooted passion for motorcycles and cars, beginning with my first major restoration: a Fiat I personally prepared for the world of motorsports.

It was this project that defined my technical edge; I didn’t just rebuild the car, I custom-built a 16-valve turbo engine for it and engineered a bespoke fuel injection system from scratch. This early dive into engineering taught me that with the right skill set, even the most complex mechanical challenge can be solved.

“The Path to Expertise”

Shortly after completing my engineering studies at college, I took my first position at a classic car specialist in Dudley. It was here that I first developed the delicate touch and specific knowledge required to handle historic vehicles.

My reputation for solving complex mechanical and electrical “puzzles” eventually led me to a renowned classic car business in Bridgnorth. Over the course of 13 years there, I worked my way up to Special Projects Manager, overseeing the care of some of the most significant automotive icons in existence.

“The Legend of the “Bulldog” & The Towns Prototypes”

The pinnacle of my career to date was managing the restoration and maintenance of the Aston Martin Bulldog. This one-of-a-kind supercar took me to the world’s most elite automotive stages: from the frozen lake of The I.C.E. St. Moritz in Switzerland to the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, and the prestigious lawns of Pebble Beach, California.

Beyond the Bulldog, I had the unique responsibility of managing the rebuilding of the four original William Towns prototype cars, including the pioneering “Microdot” EV.

These projects required an obsessive attention to detail. Working on one-off prototypes meant there was no manual; my task was to ensure every component remained faithful to William Towns’ original vision. Preserving the design integrity of these avant-garde machines while making them functional and reliable required a blend of historical research and precision engineering.

While seeing these cars win international awards was a proud moment, the true reward was the owners’ absolute trust. Knowing that these irreplaceable pieces of history were placed in my care is the standard of excellence I now bring to every vehicle that enters the CB Classics workshop.

“Our Philosophy: Solving the Puzzle”

To me, every classic car is the ultimate puzzle. No two vehicles—even of the same model and year—are exactly alike. They each have their own quirks, their own history, and their own complex needs. I thrive on the challenge of diagnosing a phantom electrical fault, tuning a custom fuel system, or recommissioning a car that hasn’t seen the road in decades.

At CB Classics, a vintage car isn’t just a machine; it’s a story waiting to be told again. My mission is to return every vehicle to its former glory, ensuring it is not just a showpiece, but a reliable machine ready to be driven and enjoyed.
